I'm seeing a lot of financial nihilism and doomerism on the timeline recently. A belief that, both in crypto and out of it, everybody just wants to get in, make a quick buck, and get out before it all crashes down.
If you're feeling this way, I might ask you - what do you believe in?
It seems like many have lost sight of any underlying conviction in anything recently. The market narratives shift constantly, but genuine belief is increasingly rare.
If there's one thing I continue to become more confident in, it's the power of networks. And that's precisely what makes crypto special: it's fundamentally networked at its core.
When money, applications, and objects can all exist on the same shared global state, as opposed to being siloed in different offline databases, assets are able to interact with each other in ways that just aren't possible with legacy rails. They can be natively networked.
Allow me to offer a simple, grounding crypto mantra:
Networked Money
Networked Objects
Networked Intelligence
The Network Thesis.
Through all the noise and nihilism, a belief that the world will continue to become more networked keeps me as optimistic as ever about where crypto is headed.
Now, you have to go find your North Star and actually believe in something.
